About the Owner: Evandro Carvalho
Evandro's passion for wood has a long history...
Born and raised in Minas Gerais, Brazil, he started early as an
apprentice in the wood furniture business helping his grand-father
and his father in the making, sanding, staining, assembling and
delivering all types of wood furniture.
In the elementary and high school Evandro was in a Catholic professional
school where he learned designing and making of wood arts and crafts,
and eventually bigger and more precise wood pieces.
At the age of 17 he adventured his way to the United States of
America looking for a professional carrier. Two weeks after his
arrival, he started as an apprentice of a small hardwood flooring
company in White Plains, NY where he worked and built his carrier
as a foreman in only two and a half years.
In 1992 Evandro moved to New Jersey to work for Blesing’s
Flooring, Inc; a very reputable hardwood flooring company, where
he sold, designed, installed, refinished, restored hardwood floors
though the Tri-State area. He taught most of the 29 employees though
the years that he devoted to that company, and he worked his way
to be the Vice-President.
With over 15 years of experience in the development, design, installation,
resurfacing and restoration of hardwood floors, Evandro Carvalho
the owner and founder of Maximum Hardwood Floors, Corp. is the
holder of a Craftsman degree, a Master Craftsman, a Vanguard and
is Certified in Installation, Sanding and Finishing by the “NWFA”
After such extensive training, Evandro now donates his time and
expertise to the NWFA as an “Instructor”. He teaches
in many of their seminars and expert schools though out the US,
helping other contractors become highly skilled and professional
flooring contractors.
Evandro Carvalho also wrote an article about turning scrap wood
in to beautiful parquet patterns in the nationally known Hardwood
Floors Magazine.
Serving on the Membership committee of the “NWFA” Evandro
learned that South Florida is in need of Hardwood Flooring Professionals
to deal with its rapidity growing market. Because Florida is a “Transient
State”, Floridians often suffer with contractors that either
don’t show up, or are not responsible and professionally
skilled to care for hardwood floors.
That’s when he decided to move with his wife and two children
to South Florida. His wife Gislene Carvalho also has degrees in
the “NWFA” for attending conventions, schools and seminars
though the years. She works in the office and very often visits
customers to do estimates, inspections and to answer any questions
our customers may have.
